At last!

If you hadn’t guessed by all my subtle hints, my debut novel Glow in the Dark was picked up by decadent publishing and will be released very soon.

What’s the story about? I am so glad you asked 🙂

Single mother, Corey Nolan lands a job at a downtrodden Chicago nightclub on the very same day she spills onto the local firehouse curb, meeting smokin hot firefighter, Jake Gilroy.

Jake is her one true love, he knows it and she knows it. But, Corey’s faithfulness to her deadbeat boyfriend Mark Norris stands in their way, until a series of diabolically masterminded events, orchestrated by an unknown psychopath sends Corey bolting into Jakes safe arms.

They barely have enough time to bask in their loving afterglow, when this heinous stalker amp’s up his game to deadly new heights. Corey then realizes she must emerge from her cocoon of deep-rooted fear and insecurity, risking everything to save her daughter’s life.

Story excerpt

“So tell me Jake, what do you do to wake up in the morning?” Corey asked, surmising from his massive frame that he didn’t have very many vices.

“So tell me Jake, what do you do to wake up in the morning?” Corey asked, surmising from his massive frame that he didn’t have very many vices.

“I have a protein shake and a banana. Then I workout and that gets me going for the day.” Jakes hands were folded as he leaned up against the rear wall of Corey’s room.

“Is there anything that I can get for you?” he asked wishing that he could lie next to her, enveloping her in his arms, letting her silky hair drape around him as he placed his lips gently on hers. He remembered her long locks smelled like peaches and her soft skin was redolent with fresh vanilla. He got a chance to hold her tight when they had danced the other night. It was the kind of experience a guy could get lost in.

Slithering into her bed and planting an unsolicited smooch on her would surely frighten her, sending her bolting into the arms of her less than worthy boyfriend. Even though he had never laid eyes on Mark, he knew by the way Corey talked about him that he was young, possibly as young as Corey was. A residuum of disappointment immersed him. He was nearly thirty. What would a young beautiful girl want with him?

Corey appraised the lines of self-doubt on his face. She couldn’t imagine why he appeared to be brooding. She just knew that those smoky, mysterious eyes casting a shadow over his complexion, was super hot.

You will be able to read the rest of the story, very soon at:

Who do you have to thank?

Who do you have to thank?

As a writer, now that your or when your career takes off, who do you have to thank? I mean sincerely, not just people you promised, whose egos you would puff up by placing their name and kind words inside your novel. I mean the real people that actually sacrifice themselves for your career.

My husband is number one. He always supports me and lets me take the time I need to write. He is also not afraid to tell me if I come up with and idea, that he deems, stoopid? LOL He also gives me the freedom to take his advice and most of the time he is right. But, don’t tell him that, Shhhhh

My daughter, yes our kids sacrifice themselves in their own way as well. In my daughters case it’s giving up time im’ing her boyfriend and believe me that’s a sacrifice for her!

My proofreader Jeanette, She had to read the first piece of crap I had ever written, God love her. She was wonderful, very objective and not afraid to tell me like it was.

Books and internet, I make it easy for people on my site to look up info and get answers, but I probably, just like you, had to take precious time away from writing to find those answers. By find, I mean climb mountains and swim through seas of bullcrap to find what I needed. It took hours, sometimes days.

Decadent publishing, for taking a chance on a newbie. Because everybody has to start somewhere, and without people that are willing to do that, we don’t stand a chance. They have been so wonderful to me, I don’t consider them a starting point, I consider them a home where I would love to reside as long as they will keep me.

Last, but not least my friends that simply just believed I could do it! Their trust and faith in me, made a believer out of my toughest critic, myself.

So tell me, who do you have to thank, really?

“Are you a witch? Gay? Different?” Enter here

“Are you a witch? Gay? Different?” Enter here

This blog is adult oriented and I want to address the fact that some people, think that their way is the right way. In that belief, they try to rob us of our free will.

Obviously, you don’t want to allow children to be molested or people and animals hurt or murdered. Beside that, no matter whom we believe in, we all know we were given a little thing called free will. So why others think they have the right to rob us of that, I don’t know. But, that is wrong and will not be tolerated by me ever!

A person’s taste, religious beliefs, sexual preference, sexual interests are not for other people to judge, ever. Especially, to the point where people turn their nose up at you or worse. Just because you are gay doesn’t mean you’re a child molester. Just because you’re a witch that doesn’t mean you torture cats and worship the Devil. Just because you’re a guy who, likes woman’s feet doesn’t mean you are going to go to the park and start licking toes, LOL

Just because you write horror books doesn’t mean you’re a murderer. Just because you like Rob zombie movies doesn’t mean you are going to grab a tub of popcorn and watch other people be dismembered. Just because you listen to “Iron maiden” doesn’t mean you eat babies for dinner.

Today is the day that I would like to see the world wakeup and stop being afraid. Martin Luther King, jr wanted equality amongst races. I too want equality among people. I would rather know what other peoples preferences are, than have them feel like that have to carry a burden every day of their lives because people might not understand.

There is no reason, in this current day and age to hide who you are. The only thing I ask, mostly of bible thumpers as to what ever your beliefs or preference’s are, that you don’t shove them down my throat or force me to be any other way than I am. I also ask that you respect the fact that I have as much free will as you. Please know that I respect you and I am so grateful to have so many friends of all backgrounds and beliefs.

Hi, my name is, Dawn and I go by the pseudo name Keira Kroft. I am married, straight, and a mom. However, I love anything dark, dark music, horror movies, scary shows, horror books and I have a real interest in the paranormal. I really wish vampires existed and I love heavy metal! But I also have a devotion to my friends, I would give my very life for any child, I think animals should be treasured and treated better than any one else, because they can’t defend themselves. I am just a nice person to spite what others may think of me. If you would like to share your story with me-
